Rules
A Quick Set of Rules
1). This goes without saying, but it will be said it for good measure. IC and OOC? Please keep them separate. We're all just here to have fun!
2). No Godmodding. You may not control any other player's character or have your character do something to another player's character without the other player's consent. Given the game's setting its possible that characters will be using powers against other characters but consent must still be obtained. Characters will not be permitted to use powers that automatically affect/control/harm/kill other player characters, be they from their canon of origin or from the river.
3). This has the potential to be an adult game. If so, all posts must be expressly labeled and underneath a cut. For any mature content, the post must be locked to the community. As a result, we ask that all players be over 18 and honest about their age. Any player under 18 will be removed from the game without warning.
4). Communication! Please try to get to know your fellow writers and don't be shy to come up with story lines and ideas. This game will flourish the more we all keep open lines of communication. Work out problems, talk out issues, etc. In this vein, please clear big stories with your moderators so that way everyone can be included and the best story can be produced.
5). In line with number four, please avoid 'cliques' with players out of character. Veterans should reach out to new players to help them adjust and start developing CR. Likewise, even though you and someone else may have been in game for months, it's never too late to make a new writing buddy!
6). Please tag all posts your character participates in on the logs and network community, whether or not you created the initial post. Moderators use this to gauge general activity as well as character relations.
7). Playing via messenger is completely acceptable. Please post logs to the community in the same format we play in here, third person, past tense, with all the time stamps and IM names edited out. If changes need to be made for better continuity/story flow, please feel free.
8). There is a limit of five characters per player. Please note, despite the limit of five, you may only have two characters from the same canon/universe.
9). Activity check is posted the first week of each month. By the end of that week all players must respond to the Google Docs page with a link to a prose thread, with each of their characters, that includes at least five tags from that character, for a total of ten comments or more by a pair of log participants. Threads that take place between characters controlled by the same player are not eligible for activity. If a character fails to make activity, they will be dropped from the game. The player may appeal and continue to play the character, but failing to make activity a second time in a row will result in the removal of the character from the game. Players that frequently have issues with meeting the minimum activity requirements will be requested to increase their activity with their current character(s) before applying for a new character.
This rule does not apply to players who have been on hiatus for two or more weeks that month, or anyone who has requested exemption in advance for various circumstances.
10). For all else, use common sense. This list may be updated but we're pretty sure everyone knows what to do and not do in a community with others! Have fun and be considerate and you're set!
